The 6th ICCER 2025 will be held on October 15-16, 2025
Venue: Surabaya, Indonesia
The Department of Civil Engineering is one of the oldest departments at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) in Surabaya, Indonesia. Established in 1957, it was initially located on Jalan Undaan Kulon, Surabaya, as the Faculty of Civil Engineering under a private university formally known as Perguruan Tinggi Teknik 10 Nopember, which later became the embryo of ITS. In 1960, Perguruan Tinggi Teknik 10 Nopember was nationalized by the government and became a state university named Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS). Subsequently, the Faculty of Civil Engineering was relocated to a new site in Ketabang Kali, Surabaya. In 1972, the faculty moved again to a new campus on Jalan Manyar, Surabaya.
Finally, in 1982, all faculties were relocated to an integrated campus in Sukolilo, Surabaya. That same year, the undergraduate program of the Faculty of Civil Engineering was moved from Jalan Manyar to the Sukolilo campus, while the Diploma III program in civil engineering remained at the Jalan Manyar site. In 1984, the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Sukolilo was reorganized into the Department of Civil Engineering, becoming one of the departments under the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning. Since 1997, the Department of Civil Engineering has been permanently located on the Sukolilo campus.
Currently, the Department of Civil Engineering is supported by fifty-eight qualified academic staff, including eight professors, seventeen PhDs, thirty-three Master's degree holders, and one Bachelor’s degree holder. The department is equipped with comprehensive teaching facilities and six laboratories. It has consistently maintained an "A" accreditation status from Indonesia's National Accreditation Board (BAN-PT).
The Department of Civil Engineering offers a range of study programs, including the Regular Undergraduate (S-1) Program, Master’s (S-2) Program, Doctoral (S-3) Program, and a Bachelor’s transfer program for Diploma III graduates.
